This year’s activities begin with registration and a cocktail reception at 6 p.m. right before the reception for local activists and elected champions. Speeches from candidates and Democratic office holders will be given throughout the evening.

St. Louis County Democrats are hosting the second Labor Educational Forum next week to share labor issues with local Democrats and encourage union members to become more involved in the Democratic Party.
The forum will be Monday November 18 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Operating Engineers Local 513 offices, 3449 Hollenberg Drive in Bridgeton.
Speakers will include Missouri Democratic Party Chairman Roy Temple and St. Louis Building and Construction Trades Council Executive Secretary-Treasurer Jeff Aboussie.

The Missouri AFL-CIO and St. Louis County Democratic Central Committee will host a forum on the legislative proposals that jeopardizes the livelihood of working families in Missouri.
Mike Louis, Secretary-Treasurer of the MO AFL-CIO and Jeff Aboussie, Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the St. Louis Building Trades, will serve as the Keynote Speakers. They will address the anti-worker climate in Jefferson City and the legislative measures that endanger the vitality of working families. Also slated to speak will be State Senator Gina Walsh.
The Forum will be Saturday, August 17, 2013 and will begin at 11:30am at the Westport Chalet.
After attempts to turn our state into a Right to Work, the MO AFL-CIO and St. Louis County Democratic Central Committee teamed up to inform voters about the harmful legislation that has been proposed and how ALEC influences the political agenda in Jefferson City.

This year’s activities begin with the Texas-Hold ‘Em sponsored by the Sheet Metal Workers Local 36. The Grassroots Reception hosted by St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley, St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Bob McCulloch, and St. Louis County Assessor Jake Zimmerman will be at 5:30 p.m. At the reception, the Carpenter’s District Council of St. Louis will host a Champagne toast and will honor Steve Markus for his 20 years of service.
The day will close with a banquet where several Democrats will be honored with awards. This year’s recipients will be former State Senator Tim Green, who will receive the Thomas Jefferson Award, and former St. Louis City Democratic Central Committee Chairman Brian Wahby, who will receive the Buzz Westfall Award. The two recipients of the Thomas Eagleton Grassroots Awards are Margaret Buoncristiani of Oakville Township and Orlando Smith of Spanish Lake Township. All recipients have been vital to electing Democrats across the region, and we are proud to honor them.
